About Me

Hello!

My name is Bec Nguyen and I'm an Australian born Chinese-Vietnamese, and love animals, love to travel and especially love my food!

I am immensely proud to be a person of colour leading the digital health field and using my connections to support and empower all women of colour.  â€‹My background in digital health project management and research, UX (user experience) design thinking, app design and community engagement has enabled me to collaborate and lead a number of digital and consumer-driven projects across multiple social impact issues across Australia. I am a strong advocate for the inclusion of the community, especially children, young people and disadvantaged families.

I was recently honoured to be awarded the 2022 IPAA Best Practice in Children's Consultation and 2022 Telstra Health's Brilliant Connected Women in Digital Health and continue to strive doing what I love best.

I love volunteering and giving back to the community and especially empower children and young people to consider a career pathway in STEM. I have enjoyed mentoring students in numerous programs including WA Maths Trust and Women in Tech WA TechTrails. I was a member of the WA New Museum Project’s consumer advisory group from 2015 - 2020 and have been volunteering in the call rooms for Telethon weekend for over a decade.

In my spare time, you'll find me hanging out with my two dogs - Kuma and Haru, cheeky little Shiba Inus, eating my way through every new restaurant in Perth with my husband and friends and organising my next holiday away! I consider Bali my second home, having learnt to speak Indonesia in University (I have a major in the language!) and visit every year since my early 20s.
